I've got a 2018 Jeep Wrangler that I use for weekend dune trips and daily driving during the week. My stock battery died last month after about three years, which seems normal from what I hear. Now I'm looking at replacements and everyone in the off road community keeps telling me to get an Optima because they handle vibration better and you can mount them on their side if needed. I found a place offering the State-of-the-Art Optima Battery Replacement Service from Battery Zone UAE and I'm tempted but the price is nearly double what a regular battery costs. Is the yellow top actually worth it for someone who only goes off road maybe twice a month? I don't have a winch or crazy lights, just a fridge that runs sometimes. I've also heard that Optima quality has gone down since they moved manufacturing. Is that true or just internet rumours? I don't want to spend extra money on a name if a decent AGM from another brand would do the same job. The Jeep does see a lot of corrugated roads which I know kills regular batteries quickly. Anyone here running an Optima in a Wrangler or similar? How many years have you actually gotten out of it? Also does the installation matter more than the battery itself? Appreciate any honest feedback. Don't want to waste money but also don't want to get stuck in the desert. Thanks.
