Best U4N Tips for the Helldivers 2 Hidden Trophy
Unlocking hidden achievements in Helldivers 2 can sometimes require more creativity than combat skill. One particularly unusual trophy, “That Which Does Not Kill You...,” asks players to injure all four limbs at the same time while somehow staying alive. Since explosive interactions have changed through patches, the most dependable setup now relies on a Hellpod rather than simply standing inside an explosion. Players preparing for this challenge should also understand that Helldivers 2 Super Credits are unrelated to the achievement itself, so the focus should remain on armor, positioning, and timing.
Choosing the Right Armor
The key to making this challenge manageable is the Democracy Protects passive. This perk provides a 50% chance of surviving lethal damage with only 1 HP remaining, giving your character a crucial opportunity to suffer the required injuries without immediately dying. The DP-40 Hero of the Federation is one suitable example, although other armor pieces with the same passive can also work.
Before starting the attempt, remove any Vitality Enhancement booster from your loadout. This booster can interfere with limb injuries and make the achievement considerably harder to trigger. Your teammates should also avoid equipping it if you are playing with others.
Setting Up the Hellpod Method
For the most consistent approach, begin a solo Trivial mission. The low difficulty keeps the setup simple and avoids unnecessary enemy interference. Once you land, call in a blue stratagem that arrives inside a Hellpod. A support weapon, resupply, or another suitable equipment stratagem can be used for this purpose.
The important part is positioning. Stand directly beneath the location where the Hellpod will land and watch the beacon carefully. Try to line yourself up so the blue light appears directly behind your character's head or neck. This gives you a useful visual reference for staying centered beneath the incoming pod.
Timing the Impact
As the Hellpod approaches, crouch or go prone shortly before impact. The goal is to let the pod's crushing mechanics hit your character as directly as possible. The screen may make the result look like an immediate death, but the game's damage calculations can register the four limb fractures a fraction of a second before the character dies.
If the achievement does not unlock immediately, do not assume the method has failed permanently. Simply use the next reinforce opportunity and repeat the setup. Small differences in positioning can determine whether the impact produces the necessary injuries.
Other Ways to Trigger the Trophy
The Hellpod technique is not the only option. Against Terminids, a Charger can provide another opportunity. Travel to a medium-difficulty Terminid mission, locate a Charger, and position yourself between the creature and a solid rock wall. Allow the Charger to hit you while you are standing directly in front of the wall.
The combined impact can create enough blunt-force damage to break all four limbs. This method depends more heavily on enemy movement and collision physics, however, so it may require several attempts.
Using Explosions Carefully
Another classic option involves the Eagle 500kg Bomb. Equip armor with Democracy Protects, then throw the bomb close to your character. Because the attack delivers an enormous burst of damage, the survival passive can potentially leave you with 1 HP while the resulting force damages your limbs.
Older guides may recommend ordinary grenades or standard airstrikes, but those approaches are less dependable after gameplay updates changed how explosions interact with armor and limb damage. For that reason, the Hellpod method remains the cleaner choice when the goal is simply to unlock the trophy.
Once the achievement is complete, you can return to normal loadouts and missions without worrying about reproducing the setup. For players who also want to improve their combat preparation, cheap Helldivers 2 Weapons can complement a broader progression strategy, but the hidden trophy itself is primarily about choosing the right armor and exploiting the game's unusual impact mechanics.
