Signs You Shouldn’t Ignore: When to See a Gynecologist in South Delhi.

I’ve been taking care of women’s health in Delhi for years now, and one thing never changes: the body almost always drops hints long before a problem gets out of hand. Most gynecological issues don’t just show up one day out of the blue, they start with small, annoying changes that get louder if you keep pushing them aside. The trouble is that so many women tell themselves “it’s probably normal,” “it’s just stress,” or “this happens to everyone after kids/after 35/after marriage.” By the time they walk into the clinic, what could have been fixed with a few tests and some tablets has often turned into something that needs much more effort to sort out.

South Delhi makes it easy to get checked, there are experienced gynecologists, good ultrasound machines and labs almost everywhere, and follow-up visits don’t feel like a whole-day mission. If any of these signs are going on and they’re not going away, are getting worse, or are messing with your normal routine, it’s time to stop waiting.

Periods That Are Messy, Heavy, or Hurt Too Much

Your cycle should be reasonably regular and bearable. When it stops being either, pay attention:

  • Periods coming too often (every 2 weeks or less) or way too far apart (more than 5–6 weeks regularly).

  • Bleeding that drags on longer than a week or is so heavy you’re changing pads/tampons every hour or two.

  • Cramps that knock you out every month and force you to take strong painkillers just to get through the day.

  • Big clots coming out or random spotting/bleeding in the middle of the cycle.

  • Flow that suddenly gets a lot heavier or a lot lighter after years of being the same.

These are classic flags for PCOS, thyroid trouble, fibroids, polyps in the uterus, adenomyosis, endometriosis or hormone swings. A quick ultrasound and some blood work can usually spot what’s happening before you end up anemic, struggling to conceive, or facing a bigger operation later.

Discharge, Smell or Itching That Keeps Coming Back

Normal discharge is mostly clear or white and doesn’t smell strong. When it changes suddenly or won’t settle:

  • Way more discharge than usual, turning yellow/green/grey with a fishy or yeasty odour.

  • Thick, white, cottage-cheese discharge with really bad itching (yeast infection).

  • Non-stop itching, burning, redness or swelling around the vulva or vaginal opening.

  • Any discharge that has blood in it when you’re not on your period.

Most of the time this is bacterial vaginosis, candida, trichomonas or sometimes cervicitis. A simple swab test and the right medicine usually clear it fast. Letting it linger can turn into long-term soreness, repeated infections or (rarely) hide something more serious.

Pain During Sex or Constant Pelvic Ache

Pain with intercourse or ongoing pelvic discomfort is never something you should just live with:

  • Deep aching or sharp pain inside when penetration happens.

  • Burning or soreness right at the entrance.

  • Lower belly or pelvic pain that isn’t linked to your period and sticks around.

Common reasons include endometriosis, adenomyosis, chronic pelvic infection, ovarian cysts, fibroids, scar tissue from old surgery or dryness from low estrogen (especially near menopause). A good exam, ultrasound and sometimes a laparoscopy can find the cause and give real relief before it starts affecting your relationship or everyday comfort.

Breast Changes You Can Feel or See

Any new breast symptom needs to be checked quickly:

  • New lump, thickening or hard spot in the breast or under the arm.

  • Nipple discharge (especially if it’s bloody, clear or comes without squeezing).

  • Skin looking like orange peel, dimpling, redness or swelling.

  • Nipple pulling inward or a rash/crusting that won’t heal on the nipple/areola.

Most lumps turn out to be harmless (cysts, fibroadenomas), but exam + ultrasound (under 40) or mammogram (over 40) gives you certainty. Early checks make all the difference if something serious is there.

Bladder or Bowel Issues That Feel Pelvic

When urinary or bowel symptoms start showing up together with gynecological ones:

  • Going to the toilet constantly, sudden urgent need, feeling like you can’t fully empty or getting repeated UTIs as an adult woman.

  • Leaking urine when you cough, sneeze, laugh or exercise (stress incontinence).

  • Struggling to pass stool, needing to push hard, feeling of incomplete emptying or having to press on the vagina/perineum to go.

  • Heavy, dragging feeling or something bulging/protruding from the vaginal opening (prolapse).

These usually come from pelvic-floor weakness after childbirth, long-term constipation or tissue changes around menopause. A gynecologist who knows pelvic-floor problems can check and offer physiotherapy, pessary or surgery if needed.

Trouble Getting Pregnant or Multiple Early Losses

If you’ve been trying for 12 months (or 6 months if you’re over 35) without success, or you’ve had two or more miscarriages, it’s time for a proper look:

  • Very irregular or missing ovulation (PCOS is the number-one reason in India).

  • Blocked or damaged fallopian tubes (from old infection, endometriosis or surgery).

  • Uterine shape issues (septum, fibroids pushing into the cavity, adhesions).

  • Hormone problems (thyroid, high prolactin, low progesterone).

Simple tests, hormone bloods, ultrasound, HSG and partner semen check usually show what’s going on. Many couples do well with basic help.

Bleeding After Menopause

Once periods have stopped for a full 12 months, any vaginal bleeding is abnormal until proven otherwise. It can be harmless (atrophic vaginitis from low estrogen) or it can be endometrial hyperplasia or cancer. A transvaginal ultrasound and endometrial biopsy usually sort it quickly.

If any of these are going on, especially if they’re sticking around, getting worse or messing with your normal routine don’t keep hoping it’ll disappear, Consult Gynecologist in South Delhi. Early checks make diagnosis quicker, treatment easier and results better.

Visit Best Gynecologist in Lajpat Nagar New Delhi can usually find the cause with a good conversation, exam and the right tests, then lay out a clear, doable plan. Pay attention to what your body is telling you, when something feels off for too long, it’s worth getting looked at.
