2. Defense Program Track Record 

Ask for a customer list and program references among tier-1 defense integrators and prime contractors. A rugged display supplier with production deliveries to Thales, L3Harris, Lockheed Martin, or Boeing has demonstrated the ability to meet the most demanding quality, delivery, and documentation requirements in the industry. 

3. Customization and Engineering Capability 

Defense programs demand custom form factors, interface protocols, and optical specifications. Evaluate whether the rugged display manufacturer maintains in-house engineering - mechanical, electrical, optical, and firmware - to support custom development without dependence on a single subcontractor chain. 

4. Long-Term Lifecycle Commitment
