There's no 2023 NFL Draft prospect more hyped than Florida quarterback Anthony Richardson. He did nothing to bring down that noise with a that reiterated the statement he made at the Combine.Richardson, after going Olympic , stuck to putting on a pa sing show back in Gainesville. He had the advantage of having his pro Buck Farmer Jersey day last, after fellow projected high first-round QBs Bryce Young, C.J. Stroud and Will Levis. Richardson didn't waste the opportunity to wow again.Here's what Sporting News learned more about Richardson after his latest workout:NFL DRAFT 2023:Richardson's arm strength is unrivaled in his draft cla sLevis has sold his "cannon" well. Stroud and Young can sling it, too, all over the field. But there's no doubt Richardson has the easiest release for the biggest downfield payoff.The ball glides off his arm, even when he's flicking his wrist while on the run. Unlike the Combine, he had the benefit of throwing to familiar Gators targets who were prepared for how far his deep pa ses would fly. Richardson also showed better accuracy in a more controlled indoor environment.Because Levis did it, Richardson threw the ball with the intention of hitting the roof near the end of his se sion. But he did it anyway knowing more evaluators wanted to be dazzled in a more intimate setting. He also has embraced to battle to be the first QB taken over the others.Between his arm, size and athleticism, there are the other things Levis, Young and Stroud can't physically match. Richardson is well aware of that, down to his exclamation point of a parting back flip.Richardson still is better off "redshirting" as a QBIt will be tempting to get Richardson into a startling lineup right away, knowing his running ability will give him a high floor (a la Justin Fields) before he puts everything together as a polished, accurate pa ser. But he also has limited starting experience from college and will turn only 21 in May.Richardson might end up getting some starts late as a rookie, but the key to a team feeling good about drafting him will be having some patience with him.Richardson has three most likely landing spots emergingAmong those NFL decision-makers in attendance at Richardson's pro day were two head coaches picking early the Panthers' Frank Reich (No. 1 overall) and the Seahawks' Pete Carroll (No. 5 overall). Don't expect Richardson to remain on the board for Dan Campbell's Lions (No. 6) or Josh McDaniels' Raiders (No. 7).IYER: Reich would not be reaching should he and Carolina GM Scott Fitterer take Richardson right off the top, because his team his best positioned to win big in 2024. Carroll and Seattle GM John Schneider know he has Geno Smith under contract for three more years, operating an offense that just went to the playoffs. Both teams are in ideal situations to invest in Richardson's upside.In between, the Texans at No. 2 need someone ready to replace Davis Mills now for DeMeco Ryans, so either Young or Stroud makes more sense. The Cardinals would shock everyone by taking a QB at No. 3, given the mega contract they gave Kyler Murray.That leaves Shane Steichen and the Colts ready to pounce on Richardson at No. 4 should the Panthers pa s on him. They could get by for one year with Gardner Minshew, who was a sneaky good pickup given he just absorbed Steichen's Eagles' offense last season.After Richardson's superstar was born in Indy, it would be fitting to make that his permanent NFL home.
